Lots of children dream of becoming superheroes, and Rosa Blasi was no different. But unlike most aspiring justice-seekers, the Chicago native is actually getting a shot at saving the world on Nickelodeon’s new live-action series, “The Thundermans,” which premiered this fall.
It’s sort of a Christmas miracle, really. Nearly 20 years ago, John Reeger and composer Julie Shannon took the tale of an early 20th-century shipwreck — an unlikely source for a holiday show — and turned it into what has become a seasonal hit: “The Christmas Schooner.”
Many Jewish weddings feature a horah — the traditional Israeli folk dance in which the bride and groom are hoisted up on chairs by guests. But rarely is the ritual so energetic that a chair leg breaks, as it did at the wedding of Leah Eisenstein and Dustin Rosenfeld. “That was one of our most hilarious moments,” laughs Eisenstein.
