The Women’s Board of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and co-chairs Paula Smith and Miller Shivers Vance welcomed more than 300 guests to the Peninsula Chicago (100 E. Superior) Sept. 7 for their annual Medicine Ball gala. After a performance from The James Sanders Trio and a live auction, which included items such as diamond earrings from Harry Winston, guests rocked out with DJ Chris Carter on the hotel’s Shanghai Terrace. Proceeds from the evening benefited the Institute’s programs and services, which provide physical medicine and rehabilitation care to patients from around the world.
