Tonight, “Mob Wives” star Renee Graziano comes on my show — 9:30 p.m. on VH1, tune in! — and I ask her about the Big Apple vs. Chicago, her new shoe line and her time in prison (as a visitor). Here’s a sneak peak.
JENNY: What is the trick to balancing your so-called street life and raising a teenager?
RENEE: Being honest and keeping it real.
JENNY: Who has better pizza, New York or Chicago?
RENEE: New York.
JENNY: I grew up on the Southside of Chicago and there were some mob families, and they seemed pretty cool. Do you think sometimes they get a bad stereotype?
RENEE: Absolutely.
JENNY: What was the inspiration for your shoe line?
RENEE: Candy, the “mob that doesn’t exist,” and Candy. I f-ing love Candy.
JENNY: I read somewhere that you’ve visited something like 83 prisons.
RENEE: 36. Wait, no. I think it’s more like 43 prisons in 36 states.
JENNY: Were you ever afraid that they were just going to keep you?
RENEE: Hell no, maybe the mental ward, but not the feds.
JENNY: What inspired jail mail?
RENEE: The idea came from the more than 5 thousand letters that I wrote.
JENNY: What is the purpose of Operation Mob Wives Saving Lives?
RENEE: Raising money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
JENNY: Who’s your favorite picks for the Oscars on Sunday?
RENEE: Anything Harvey Weinstein.
JENNY: When are you coming to Chicago next?
RENEE: I’m going to go on March 2nd for Pierre Thomas’ (New Orleans Saint) I Can Foundation event.
