Most women I talked to didn’t have a problem hiring a hot sitter. Their defense was, ”good babysitters are hard to come by and most cute college girls seem trustworthy.” Sure, trustworthy with your baby — but what about your spouse?
As a mother, I, too have had my fair share of hot nannies, and my reasoning was the same as most women. They were sweet, cute and needed the money so they were always on time. I never once thought for a minute that my man was fantasizing about the nanny or would ever think about sleeping with her. Looking back, I was pretty naïve. There are countless accounts of celebs in tabloids that have been busted having an affair with their nannies and every time I’m always shocked, mainly because I usually think like a guy (or at least from a guy’s perspective) and I can’t believe I let this one get past me. Of course they fantasize about the hot babysitter. I’m about one percent OK with it, because my Rolodex of fantasizes is pretty out there — but I still think to actually act on it is insane.
Being cheated on sucks in general, but to have the woman that you trusted with your kids sleep with your man would bring out the Jerry Springer in all of us. I decided to take this revelation one step further and called an ex about it. Sorry, I didn’t call any famous exes. (Famous people are into way weirder stuff.)
JENNY: Hey, when we were together did you think any of my babysitters were hot? And if so, did you ever fantasize about them?
EX: Duh.
See, I rest my case. I was too afraid to ask any other questions, but like most women I hope that my hiring skills outweighed any of their cheating skills.
