This week: The Women’s Innovation Network (WIN) Black History Month Innovation Panel, G-EAZY, Field of Dreams Anniversary Gala and more. ~ Feb. 19 ● Women’s Innovation Network (WIN) Black History Month Innovation Panel  WMAQ-Channel 5’s LeeAnn Trotter moderates a conversation on entrepreneurship with achievers such as Jetta Bates, creator of JettaSetting; artist and educator Makeba Kedem-DuBose; PR maven Dori Wilson; and Dawgelene Sangster, author and founder of Think Royally, Inc. At its 18th annual event, Girls in the Game — which provides fitness opportunities, health education and leadership development to young women — honors Olympians Brandi Chastain, Allyson Felix and Swin Cash, plus local fierce females like ESPN Chicago anchor Sara Spain and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.

● PAWS ‘Animal Magnetism’

● ‘Short Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet’

Rachel Rockwell, one of the city’s busiest and most admired directors, adapts the timeless tragedy, creating a compact and compelling family-friendly production.

● ‘Oscar Experience: Chicago 2013′

Like New Year’s Eve, Academy Awards night is an occasion to be shared — seeing the stars and what they wear is so much more fun with a crowd. There’s no better way to celebrate this annual spectacle than at the Gene Siskel Film Center’s “Oscar Experience,” the only event sanctioned by the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences. ●  15th Annual Worldwide Toast to Harry Caray

Join celebrities such as Ernie Banks, Billy Corgan, Tom Ricketts and Caray’s widow, Dutchie, and raise a glass to a beloved Chicago sports icon. Then enjoy a fireworks show over Lake Michigan, complete with Harry Caray hologram glasses. Richard Roeper and Roe Conn will also broadcast their WLS-AM radio show live from the event.

● ‘Living Through Giving’

The James Tyree Foundation — dedicated to exploring innovative approaches in education and health care — hosts a cocktail party fundraiser at Mesirow Financial.

● ‘Gglassquerade’

Lookingglass celebrates 25 years of wildly inventive theater with this blowout event at the Four Seasons. Stephen Colbert — who consorted with the company’s founders back when he was a student at Northwestern University — receives the organization’s Civic Engagement Award.

● American Cancer Society Black & White Ball

● ‘Hide N Seek Masquerade’

The young professionals of the Chicago Children’s Museum Metropolitan Board do their bit for the institution’s education programs and community initiatives with this fundraiser. ● ‘They Seek a City: Chicago and the Art of Migration, 1910–1950’

The next big Art Institute exhibit, “They Seek a City,” explores how artistic newcomers to Chicago shaped the cultural profile of their  adopted home. The museum’s Leadership Advisory Committee hosts an opening gala with cocktails in Terzo Piano restaurant and dinner in the Modern Wing.
