Girls night out

Posted by Jenny McCarthy on 18 Jan 2013

We all show up to our get-together destination, some more excited than others. Preggo offers to be the designated driver and side-eyes us all night. She now realizes just how ridiculous we all are after a few bottles of wine and vows to never drink again. New mom is really anxious about leaving her perfect baby and is constantly texting her husband asking for updates and pictures. She’s also frantically drinking water in hopes of not having to pump and dump later. Engaged gal is trying to wrangle in our really drunk single friends, lecturing them on how they will never find a husband by dancing on the bar in fishnet stockings. Mom friend with the college-aged kids casually sips her wine wondering when her own children will show up to our establishment donning their brand new fake IDs. She’s cool as a cucumber and has an admirable “been there, done that” air about her. Then there’s the rest of us. We remember those anxiety ridden new mommyhood days while looking forward to being the cool-as-a-cucumber mom. We all may be at different stages of our lives right now, but when it comes down to it, we all still love and respect…

Then there’s the rest of us. We remember those anxiety ridden new mommyhood days while looking forward to being the cool-as-a-cucumber mom.

We all may be at different stages of our lives right now, but when it comes down to it, we all still love and respect one another the way we did as kids. Let’s face it, in another 40 years we will all be on common ground again – putting in our teeth and changing each others’ diapers while trying to sit next to the one old guy left at the early-bird dinner.

Which one in this group of girlfriends do you most relate to?
