We’re thrilled for Ariel Investments president Mellody Hobson and renowned director George Lucas (above), who recently became engaged. The pair, who have been together for more than six years, are expected to wed in the spring. Congratulations to Maria Ponce and her husband, Trey Berre, on the birth of their new baby, Fiona Ann (left). Fiona is the first child for Ponce, a photographer (who often shoots for Splash), and Berre, the designer behind men’s accessory line Artfully Disheveled. Hats off to Splash columinist Jenny McCarthy, who donned a Santa cap to sit courtside and play honorary captain at the Bulls game on Christmas night. Along with 10-year-old son Evan, McCarthy schmoozed with the players, befriended Benny the Bull and talked to sportscaster Steve Kashul about her Splash column.
