Don’t miss this week’s best style events, including an Anthropologie sweater drive, a Rent the Runway show, the Renegade Craft Fair and the chance to meet the Sartorialist at the MCA.
Sweater swap
Bring new or gently used women’s and children’s sweaters to any Anthropologie location for the Cozy Drive and they’ll be donated to local homeless shelters. Not only will you be giving back, but looking good as well as you’ll receive a Cozy card, good for $10 off any same-day sweater or outerwear purchase. The charitable event runs through Nov. 30. Learn more at Anthropologie.com.
Fashion snaps
The Sartorialist is the ultimate fashion inspiration — and one of the biggest street style blogs on the Internet. On Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. creator Scott Schuman steps out from behind the camera and drops by the Museum of Contemporary Art (220 E. Chicago) to discuss and sign his new book, The Sartorialist: Closer. Like his blog, the book captures some of the best street style around the world, from New York City to Tokyo. The event is free for Illinois residents or included in the cost of museum attendance for visitors. Visit Mcachicago.org for more information.
Borrowed style
Join Rent the Runway Fashion Director Lucy Sykes Rellie at the W City Center (172 W. Adams) on Nov. 28 to celebrate the hotel’s two floors of newly redesigned guest rooms and scope out some of Rent the Runway’s newest designer additions. Attendees will get 50 percent off a future dress rental. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP to Jessica.young@whotels.com.
Gifts by hand
The Renegade Craft Fair was born in Wicker Park, but the indie DIY market has gone global, now traveling the country to bring artisans and shoppers together over handcrafted goods. The fair returns home Dec. 1 and 2 to the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse (1419 W. Blackhawk) — just in time for holiday shopping. For more info visit Renegadecraft.com.
