The feud between new “American Idol” judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj is heating up!
After a video surfaced of Nicki swearing at Mariah during auditions in North Carolina last month, some people speculated that the feud was contrived to get publicity for the show. Even Chicago’s beloved “American Idol” winner Jennifer Hudson reportedly discounted the video, stating, “I don’t believe it. I think it’s just for ratings.”
However, sources tell me that’s not the case in this situation.
“Mariah and Nicki hate each other!” says a source. “They are both divas and Mariah wants all the attention. It’s not a shock they’re butting heads.”
Though it might be part of the plan: “American Idol” producers “strategically brought on two stars who are likely to bicker because the conflict makes the show more interesting,” the source said.
Mariah isn’t Nicki’s only frenemy in the business — hubby Nick Cannon is not a fan either. At a recent Hollywood party Nick refused to play any of Nicki’s songs.
“Someone requested one of Nicki’s songs and he refused to play it,” the source said. “It was no mistake. He didn’t play her music on purpose. He does not like Nicki and thinks she’s disrespectful to Mariah.”
Chris Brown & Karrueche Back Together!
Chris Brown is back together with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran. The tumultuous couple broke up last month and she moved out. But sources tell me that they’re not only back together, but Karrueche is calling the shots. The couple has been spotted at Hollywood spots such as Greystone Manor and Wokcano, as well as intimate parties at private homes in the Hollywood Hills.
“They were kissing and acting lovey-dovey again,” an eyewitness said. “Karrueche hasn’t moved back in yet with Chris, but they are spending a lot of time together. She seems to have Chris whipped. When they go out she decides when they leave. All she has to do is snap her fingers when she is ready to leave a party and Chris and his entourage jump!”
But, the source says, he’s still seeing Rihanna, too — so the love triangle continues!
