Joffrey Ballet’s Couture & Cocktails

Posted by Splash Staff on 05 Oct 2012

An evening of style, celebration, and, of course, cars At the Joffrey Ballet’s Couture & Cocktails fundraiser Sept. 28, co-chairmen Sonya Y. Jackson and Kristina McGrath — both clad in sequined jumpsuits — staged a grand entrance, rolling into the party through clouds of smoke in a white Lexus LFA to the dance beats of “Gangnam Style.” The party was hosted inside the new McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago (1301 N. Elston), which was transformed into a giant three-room party mecca: one had a runway to feature the Pamella Roland spring 2013 collection (Roland, a Joffrey board member, attended, along with many local notables including chef Art Smith and the Chicago Bears’ Israel Idonije); another featured a lounge with dancing and cocktails; and the giant service area was filled with food trucks serving fun fare like mac and cheese and pancakes. More than 400 guests raised nearly $275,000 to support the Joffrey’s programs and performances. Donate to Joffrey Ballet here. Story by Zak Stemer | Photos by Ramzi Dreessen
