Dispatches from our Chicagoan in Hollywood, Liz Crokin. Hello, Chicago! First, a little about me: I’ve been covering gossip in Chicago and beyond for nearly ten years. I broke my first cover story for Us Weekly in 2004 (about hometown hero Bill Rancic) and later served as In Touch Weekly’s Midwest editor based in Chicago. My career has taken me to the Galapagos Islands covering Brangelina, Alaska to report on Bristol Palin and Florida to break an exclusive on the Casey Anthony trial. Two years ago I moved to Los Angeles, and my cover stories for Star magazine have included John Travolta; Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore; Katy Perry and Russell Brand; and Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian. I recently landed at the National Enquirer, but I’m thrilled to have a voice in Chi-Town again in Sunday Splash. Kimye Kools

Friends close to the Hollywood power couple tell me they foresee a rocky road ahead for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. “It’s just not going to work in the long run,” a source tells me. “They are already butting heads. Kanye grew up in a working-class neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago, and Kim was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Kanye wears the same hoodie everyday and hangs out at Harold’s Chicken when he comes home to Chicago. A girl who spends hours in a makeup chair everyday is going to get sick of his way of life real fast!”

New dawn for ‘Twilight’ duo?

And in Hollywood, sources are telling me that Robert Pattinson plans on getting back together with Kristen Stewart. Although he’s still totally heartbroken by her betrayal, he’s so head over heels in love with her that he’s willing to forgive her. Meanwhile, the powers that be behind the “Twilight” series have been pushing them to get back together because the couple is so important to the “brand.”
